You will join a radiology department in its earliest stages, giving you the rare opportunity to help build the culture, workflows, and collaborative patterns from the ground up. The Health Texas Provider Network is creating a three-radiologist team to manage outpatient reads across a broad footprint of primary care, urgent care, and dedicated imaging centers. Because this is a new department, you will play an important role in shaping how radiologists interact with referring clinicians, how communication flows, and how the team defines its identity and expectations.
Leadership is engaged and supportive. The group is guided operationally by administrative leaders including Tyson Schmidt and clinically aligned with Dr. Montgomery, who leads the established central Texas radiology team in Temple. His group provides extended hours and after hours coverage, giving your team a dependable safety net and protecting your schedule. This structure blends the agility of a startup environment with the stability of a major healthcare system.
Even though you will work from home, you will never feel isolated. Daily collaboration with family medicine, primary care, and urgent care clinicians happens through EPIC chat and Microsoft Teams. Every message connects you directly to the providers relying on your reads, and these frequent touchpoints make the remote environment feel personal. Each clinic has varying support staff such as technologists (NCT and RT in some locations) who keep imaging workflows efficient.
This is a collaborative, communicative practice environment where your voice carries weight and your presence shapes the long-term success of the department.
